| The Australian Consulate-General & Austrade staff in Chicago recently attended the Chicago premiere of "Tunnel Rat" which is an award winning play written by Australian playwright Neil Cole. The G’Day USA Australia Day Ball held in Chicago on Saturday, 28 January 2012 was attend by a jovial 300 guests Australia's Ambassador to the USA, the Hon Kim Beazley AC, Consul-General Roger Price, Tabatha Coffey the host of Bravo’s hit reality television series Tabatha Takes Over, and Australia’s Got Talent winner, Joe Robinson, were our special guests for the evening. A charity raffle raised over $5,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Metropolitan Chicago. |

| On Tuesday 17 Jan 12, Roger Price and Justin Biggs visited the Brookfield Zoo and were kindly provided with a guided tour of Australia House and some up close and personal visits with ‘Aussie’ the polar bear (born in Adelaide Zoo 28 years ago) and ‘Cookie’; a Major Mitchell’s cockatoo who is the last surviving animal from the Australian collection at the 1934 opening of the Zoo. Cookie is an amazing 78 years young !!. | ![]() |
