Information on how to make a request to sit the citizenship test in Washington
If you wish to sit the citizenship test, you must first lodge your application for Australian citizenship by conferral on form 1300t.
You may do this in the following manner:
• By scanning your completed application, with the application fee, and emailing it to us. Please note that you will need to subsequently submit your original or certified documents in support of your application.
• By sending us your application with the application fee and supporting documentation (originals or certified copies only).
• By faxing us your application with the application fee. Please note that you will need to subsequently submit your original or certified documents in support of your application.
Once your application is received, our office in Australia will assess your eligibility for citizenship. Once your eligibility is confirmed, we will contact you to set up a test date and time.
Testing is held once a month in Washington. The next test is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 9 March at 10:00AM EST. Future dates will be posted at a later date. Testing dates may change and we encourage you to contact our office before making travel arrangements.
Please note that you may schedule your test no earlier than seven (7) calendar days prior to testing date.

Attending your Australian citizenship ceremony in Washington
If you have been granted Australian citizenship and have been requested to attend a ceremony in Washington, please contact us via the ISAV.
Ceremonies are held once a month in Washington. The next ceremony is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 9 March 2010 at 2:00PM EST. Future dates will be posted at a later date. Ceremony dates may change and we encourage you to contact our office before making travel arrangements.
