LES Benefits and Compensation
Salaries (as of 1 July 2011)
Broadband 1: $31,973 - $40,886
Broadband 2: $41,020 - $54,096
Broadband 3: $54,890 - $72,325
Broadband 4: $74,901 - $111,358
Broadband 5: $111,886 - $143,191
Cost of living adjustments are made to salaries 1 July each year.
Leave
Staff are entitled to 22 days recreation leave (accruable to a maximum of 44 days) and 18 days personal leave each year. The Embassy observes 14 public holidays each year.
Working Hours
The standard working day is 7 hours and 30 minutes. BB2 and BB3 staff are entitled to accumulate and use flex time.
Health Insurance
Health insurance is offered to staff employed for a continuous period of at least three months, who work a minimum of 24 hours per week. Medical plans are generously subsidised by the Embassy.
Performance Pay
Long-term contract staff who have performed service of 6 months or more within the performance year are entitled to a performance pay outcome based on a performance appraisal.
Local Pension Scheme
Long-term contract staff who have satisfied the Trial Period and Background Check may contribute up to 20% of their base salary to this scheme and the Embassy will match the staff member’s contribution up to 5% of annual base salary. There are no vesting periods applying to membership of this scheme and the Embassy pays the administration fees.
Employee Assistance Program
The Embassy also provides a local Employee Assistance Program at no cost to staff.
